Tea House
Materials: alder, alder plywood, black pebbles
Designers: Paul Taylor, Seth Quest
The design for this interior tea house was inspired by classic Japanese structures, but with a playful twist: the slats of each wall run at a unique angle, interacting with the light streaming through the room’s lone window. The tea house, elevated three feet above the floor, is accessible by six free-standing steps. There is room for up to six people to sip tea, converse, or simply enjoy the shifting sunlight.
